How much does it cost to rent a boat?
Please see our Boat Rental Price guide in the Rentals section for selection and pricing.
What is the clearance under the bridge next to the marina in the channel?
The clearance varies from 6 to 7 feet depending on the time of year and the variable amount of rain Lake St. Catherine experiences. The bridge does not have enough clearance to keep a boat’s Bimini/Canopy top or Wake Tower in the UP position while traversing under it regardless of seasonal weather. You are ALWAYS responsible to manually put the boat’s Bimini/Canopy top or Wake Tower in the DOWN position before traversing underneath it. If you have a vessel that cannot traverse underneath the bridge at all, contact E-Z marine via phone number(s) as we have a private-owned launch on the North side of the bridge to avoid the issue.
Where is E-Z Marine’s Private Launch and does it cost anything?
E-Z Marine’s private launch is an area only accessible by E-Z Marine staff with their own machinery. The launch is located on the North side of the channel’s bridge and can bypass the bridge’s clearance restrictions. E-Z Marine’s private launch is shallower than the public VT state launch on the south side of the bridge. It does not support a normal truck and trailer. E-Z Marine uses a company tractor to utilize the launch. To schedule E-Z Marine’s private launch: Call to make an appointment and E-Z Marine staff will launch your vessel for a $50 charge.
Are there any areas of Lake St. Catherine that rental boats are not allowed?
Yes, there are certain areas that are off-limits for E-Z Marine rental boats to traverse. The Southern Little Lake & Northern Little Pond are two areas where E-Z Marine rental boats are not permitted. The southernmost part of the channel is accessible to sight-see and fish, but the Little Lake is not. The Northernmost Bay of Lake St. Catherine is also accessible to sight-see and fish, but the Lilly Pond is not.
Where are the shallow areas of Lake St. Catherine?
Shallow areas are spread throughout the entire lake. Most of the main shallow spots are marked with cones or buoys by the Lake St. Catherine Association. Some examples of marked shallow spots to stay clear of are: Sunken Island (outside of the northern part of the channel), Cones Point landmass tip (northeast landmass), The Island (northwest landmass), Lake St. Catherine State Park (northeast), Atwater Bay large rocks (northwest), between Atwater Bay & Horseshoe Bay.
What are the names of the bays on Lake St. Catherine?
Bays: Atwater’s Bay, Hall’s Bay, Oxbow Bay, Horseshoe Bay, Forrest House Bay, North Bay
Other Geographic Points of Interest: Cone’s Point, Lilly Pond, Little Lake, The Channel, The Island, The Sunken Island, The State Park, VT Route 30 (Easternmost Rd.), West Lake Rd (Westernmost Rd.)
